Lions near fundraising goal for centennial Dwight Beach washroom project

The Dwight Lions reported this week that they are 84.5 per cent of the way to their fundraising target of $75,000 to construct permanent washrooms at Dwight Beach. Their fundraising success comes thanks to generous donors and a budgeted contribution of $36,761 from the Township of Lake of Bays. The $75,000 will be used for materials for the project, with the labour being donated by local businesses and volunteers.

The accessible washroom and change room facility was the Dwight Lions project of choice in honour of the Lions Club International’s centennial in 2017. (Read more about the project on Doppler here.)

If you’d like to contribute to the project, donations can be made at the Township of Lake of Bays office, earmarked for the washroom project. Tax receipts are issued for donations greater than $25. Financial or in-kind donations over $1,000 will also be recognized on a plaque in the new facility.

Anyone interested in being involved in the project can contact Joe Deniet at 705-349-0113. Follow along with the project’s progress on Facebook here.
