Today was Frank Claro’s lucky day. The Bay Lake Road property owner won F.C. Hammond Well Drilling’s annual well draw, earning him the value of the well he had installed last year.
His invoice number was drawn by Mayor Scott Aitchison on behalf of the company today.
This is the ninth year that company owners Norm and Jeff Yearley have given one of their customers from the previous year back the cost of their well. It’s a fun way for the company to give back to their customers at the beginning of each year.
F.C. Hammond’s founder, Frank Hammond, was Huntsville’s first well driller. The family sold the company to Norm Yearley, who has more than 30 years of experience in the industry, in 2005. His son, Jeff, later joined him in the business.
