A 29-year-old man has been convicted of impaired driving after pleading guilty in a Bracebridge court.
Jackson Watt, 29, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood in connection with an incident on Jan. 31, 2026.
The court heard that Ontario Provincial Police officers were on patrol when they observed a pickup truck travelling eastbound on West Road in Huntsville. Police observed the vehicle drifting within its lane, striking a snowbank, travelling at inconsistent speeds, and proceeding through a red light before conducting a traffic stop.
During sentencing, the court was advised that Watt had a previous impaired driving conviction from 2019.
Following his guilty plea in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, Watt was convicted and sentenced to a $3,000 fine and a two-year driving prohibition.
