Fairvern’s Debbie Biliko, Business Services Coordinator, was the recipient of the Dr. Harold Robinson Award of Excellence for 2015. The award was presented to Biliko at Fairvern’s Annual General Meeting on May 16.
“Debbie was presented with a gold Award of Excellence pin, a trophy and a certificate for a day off with pay!! Debbie’s name was also added to the plaque that is on display across from my office. She joins the other 12 award recipients in this place of honour,” noted Fairvern Administrator Tracy Badger in a memo to staff the following day.
The award is given to an employee who goes above and beyond his or her call of duty and displays excellent work ethic. It is named in honour of former medical advisor Dr. Harold Robinson who served the home for many years. Dr. Robinson became ill and eventually resigned. He passed away in 2008. The board at that time decided to name the award of excellence after him to honour his memory, explained Badger.
“He was a voice of reason and he would listen, he would offer suggestions… he helped create Fairvern to be the home of choice,” said Badger.
He was a very well respected man from all of his colleagues, from the staff here, from those of us who worked closely with him. He was very well respected for his contributions to Fairvern so it was the board’s way of honouring those contributions.Fairvern Administrator Tracy Badge
An honourable mention also went out to Personal Support Workers Amber Payne and Betty Graham for their excellent work, said Badger.
