Danny Rodney James, born November 18, 1946, to Arthur and Florence James, passed away September 30, 2024, at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie.
Sadly missed by step-son Joel, brothers Dave (Lauralea) and Keith (Linda), sisters Cheryl (Dave), Arlene, Heather (Gerald), and Kim, and many nephews and nieces.
The little guy with the big heart could always be relied on if you needed him. He was always there to help out in any way possible, you just had to ask. As one of his fellow Rotarians wrote, “he really impressed me as a shirt sleeves up, head down type of guy.”
Dan was a multi-talented personality. His achievements include winning the Gymnastic Championships, acting in two CBC productions, and earning three Master’s Degrees. He worked in the tech industry in Canada and the U.S.A.
Retirement brought him back to Canada and a condo in Collingwood. When he decided he wanted “a place where he could step out the door and onto his own land” he began looking around Ontario and found his Eden in Huntsville.
He enjoyed his retirement years, spending fun times with family, all the friends he made along the way, and the quality time spent volunteering with the Rotary Club.
Final arrangements have not been determined and will be announced when finalized.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to Heart and Stroke or the Huntsville Hospital Auxiliary would be greatly appreciated.
