Convicted rapist Steven Yearley wanted by police, again

UPDATE: Yearley was arrested on July 22 and is presently in custody awaiting his hearing on August 8.

Convicted rapist Steven Yearley, is again wanted by police.

According to a ‘Fugitive Friday’ report posted on ontariopolicereports.com on Friday July 29, Steven Edward David Yearley, 26 of Toronto, is wanted on a warrant for Obstruct Peace Officer and Fail to Comply Probation.

If that name sounds familiar it is because Yearley was convicted in Huntsville in 2007 of rape. He served five years in a federal prison for the violent attack of a woman on the Hunters Bay Trail.

Upon his release from jail he moved to Peterborough where mykawartha.com reports he was arrested in July 2014 and faced 12 charges including breaching a peace bond, failing to comply with probation, mischief under $5000, possession of a narcotic, and obstruct police. Yearley was convicted and served more jail time. He was released in November of 2014.

Police describe Yearly as 5’9”, 150 lbs with brown hair and blue eyes. Police warn that he is considered violent and if located should not be approached. Instead call 9-1-1.

Police ask that anyone with information contact them at 416-808-1400, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637).
