Huntsville’s Committee of Adjustment has approved a minor variance request for an addition to the building housing Harvest Bible Chapel.
The application is for a reduced setback in the rear yard from seven metres to 5.3 metres.
The applicant has proposed an 88.4m² (951.5 sq.ft.) addition at the rear of the building at 5 Crescent Road. The lot is surrounded by industrial development on three sides.
Parking associated with the building is located across the street at 44 Crescent Road. The two lots have historically been used in tandem, notes the staff report presented to committee, and the zoning bylaw permits offsite parking provided the lot is less than 150 metres away.
The lot is also subject to site plan control, through which vegetative buffers and screen will be maintained and enhanced to ensure compatibility with surrounding uses and to bolster the visual aesthetic of the lot, adds the rerport.
Committee approved the request.
