Check out District’s new GeoHub on World GIS Day

A message from the District of Muskoka

The District Municipality of Muskoka’s Geographic Information System (GIS) Team invites the Muskoka community to celebrate World GIS Day on November 18 by tuning into a live demo of the new Muskoka GeoHub mapping website!

GIS touches everyone’s life regularly, but many people are unaware of its uses and availability. GIS Day is about showing, teaching, and inspiring others while spreading enthusiasm to help people learn how to use GIS for themselves—in their work, in their schools, where they volunteer, or even for their hobbies and interests. This day is also an opportunity for GIS professionals and organizations to highlight their work and share the amazing things they are doing and creating for their communities and beyond—which makes it the perfect timing to launch Muskoka GeoHub!

What is Muskoka GeoHub?

Muskoka GeoHub is an online portal that allows the public to access important geographical information in Muskoka such as:

  • Air Photos
  • Topography and Crown Land Maps
  • Floodplain Mapping
  • Shoreline Videos
  • Trails Explorer
  • Zoning Maps
  • Subdivision and Condominium Development Maps
  • Data sets for Environment, Community Public works, and so much more!

Muskoka GeoHub replaces the current Muskoka Web Map and features new maps, tools, and functions to help you explore Muskoka’s geographical information.
