Have you ever felt an uncharacteristic presence moving around your house or in your neighbourhood?
Perhaps something oddly familiar, or eerily reminiscent, or more dramatic like doors opening or closing by themselves or strange noises in the attic? Shadows skulking in the corner of your eye, repeated unusual sensations?
Is it located only in your house, or have the neighbours mentioned noticing peculiar happenings as well?
If you experienced paranormal activity, then Blue Ant Studios, a production office based in Toronto, invites you to tell your story, in an audition for a new television series set to air in 2024 on Haunt TV in the US and T&E in Canada.
With the working title, “My Haunted Hometown”, the weekly show promises a unique and captivating viewer experience that delves into the fascinating and sometimes supernatural blend of local history and the paranormal in small towns across the country.
Each episode takes viewers on a journey through the personal experiences of families who have settled in their homes and are experiencing paranormal activity (usually escalating in intensity throughout the episode).
The show introduces the audience to these families and their reasons for choosing these towns as their forever homes. They share what they love about their hometowns, as well as the darker aspects or challenges they’ve encountered. Through personal stories and interviews, the show uncovers the heart and soul of these small communities.
Many towns and cities seem idyllic on the outside but are home to dark histories that have brought frightening supernatural activity – vengeful spirits intent on tormenting those who dare to live there. These are the stories of families, friends, and individuals who have built a life in the community and call these towns their home – but have become trapped, haunted over and over, or finally made their escape.
What truly sets “My Haunted Hometown” apart is its focus on local lore, history, and the manifestation of supernatural activity. The show investigates the unique ‘hometown flavor’ of each location, offering viewers insights into the town’s history and its particular haunting, introducing local historians, enthusiasts, and individuals deeply connected to the town’s lore, and providing a specific residential perspective.
Through recorded interviews and walk-throughs of haunted locations, the show carefully weaves together the stories of the town’s past and the experiences of its inhabitants. Television viewers are immersed in rare glimpses of the haunted properties, as well as the media and documentation associated with these paranormal events.
The show ultimately strives to uncover the connection between the subjects’ personal hauntings and the rich history of their hometowns, inviting viewers to experience the intriguing mystery that lurks behind the façade of small-town Canadian and American Life.”
