Calling all animal lovers! Muskoka Pet Fest takes place this Saturday

The first-ever Muskoka Pet Fest will take place this Saturday, July 9 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Huntsville Fair Grounds, 407 Ravenscliffe Road.

More than 40 vendors will be at the event. There will also be food and live music as well as a silent auction. Other activities include a lure agility course for dogs and a photographer ready to take a photo of your pooch. There’ll be a petting farm, equestrian demonstrations as well as goat yoga. There will also be a pet show and people are welcome to register their furry, and not-so-furry, friends to compete in different divisions.

“Our whole goal is really to just bring the community back together after a few years of nothing but separation,” explained Jen Turkosz, one of the organizers. “And we noticed there was really nothing like this in the Muskoka area so we know that Muskoka loves animals and we never expected to get as big as it has but we’re so, so grateful,” she said, adding that people will be coming to Muskoka from other communities to attend the event as well.

Part of the proceeds from the event will go to Paws of the North Rescue and Silver Willow Farm Rescue and will also help an area family devastated by a fire.
