Assault conviction following downtown altercation

A Huntsville man was in a Bracebridge court recently to plead guilty to an assault after a heated argument turned physical.

During the court appearance, Robbie Gaboury, 60, pleaded guilty to assault, stemming from an incident that occurred July 1 on Main Street in Huntsville.

Court heard that at approximately 4 pm Gaboury became involved in a heated verbal argument with a man in another vehicle. Court heard that Gaboury attempted to grab the victim’s phone and then took a swing at him through the open window but did not connect.

No injuries were reported and the incident was caught on video, court heard.

Court heard that Gaboury has an unrelated criminal record and was sentenced to 12 months of probation.

    I think he should also be required to take an anger management course and do some community service.
