Art Fx #23: Table and chairs by Cirvan Hamilton

Art Fx is a year-long series on Huntsville Doppler featuring Huntsville-area visual artists.

The 8-88 table and Mantis chairs were crafted by furniture maker Cirvan Hamilton.

The double flared, round table base is made of 16 curved bent laminations with a veneered inlaid top under glass. It comes with a set of four chairs in matching walnut and padauk.

Hamilton’s inspiration for his works “comes from the natural and architectural forms all around us,” he says.

About the artist:

Cirvan Hamilton has been building furniture for more than 20 years. He trained at Rosewood Studio, and lives and works at Stone Tree Studio near Dorset surrounded by gardens and forest with his wife, stone sculptor Elise Muller.

Stone Tree Studio (stonetreestudio.ca or @stonetreestudio on Instagram) is located at 4547 Muskoka District Rd. 117. Call 705-783-1760 for any inquiries.
