On Friday, January 30th, 2026, at approximately 10:31 p.m., officers of the Huntsville OPP received a call for service for an intoxicated male attempting to leave a residence on Walker Lake Drive in Lake of Bays.
The OPP were told that a male was intoxicated and was threatening to leave the residence after a verbal argument ensued over political views with another at the location.
Officers located the vehicle travelling on Highway 60 and conducted a vehicle stop. Officers suspected the driver had alcohol in their system and demanded that the driver provide a breath sample. The driver subsequently registered a fail.
As a result of the investigation, Brandon HOUSTON, 46 years old of Collingwood, Ontario, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from custody with a court date of February 24th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.
The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
