Andrew Fyfe

1959 – 2025

Andrew passed away May 25, 2025 at home after a 3-month battle with brain cancer. In his last weeks, he was surrounded by his much-loved wife of 35 years Nancy and his loving children Adam & Emily.

Andrew spent his career as a municipal planner in the Simcoe County area, finishing off his working life in Severn Township.

Andrew & Nancy retired to the Mary Lake Highlands in Muskoka where Andrew enjoyed hiking, Nordic skiing, biking, and boating. He gave his time to many organizations, most notably the Muskoka Watershed Council and the Arrowhead Nordic Ski Club. Andrew also spent years running local adult soccer leagues in Bracebridge and Orillia, and loved playing old timer hockey in Bracebridge.

Andrew was happiest spending time with his family. He shared his love for music, reading, and the outdoors with Adam & Emily, and loved spending time sitting on the dock with Nancy at the family cottage in Haliburton.

Nancy, Adam, and Emily are so very grateful to all of the medical team that allowed them to have Andrew at home. A special thanks to Dr. Deb Harrold, nurses Virginia and Chelsea, and PSW Shannon who all treated Andrew with kindness and respect and always had time to listen. Additional thanks to the community of Mary Lake Highlands for their continued love and support.

Andrew was a truly happy person who was content in life. He will be sorely missed by his loving family and countless friends.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Donations to the Arrowhead Nordic Ski Club or the Muskoka Conservancy in Andrews memory would be appreciated.

So sorry for your loss Nancy, Emily and Adam as well. I dog sat for you some time ago. I am happy to have met Andrew then. Thinking of you during this time. Kirsty Willamson

    Such a loss.

Andrew was a valued member of our community. He kindly provided advice and context based on his planning experience. Always an eager participant in social events and work projects, he was very personable, could chat with anyone, and had interesting, relevant stories to share. One of those truly “nice guys,” it is sad to lose him so soon.

    He is missed.
