Huntsville Curling Club Director of Curling and Bonspiels
Local curlers came together recently in a turkey-themed bonspiel to compete for top spot. In all, 64 curlers vied for top All-Star placements in Huntsville’s Bullock’s Independent Turkey Spiel on December 16.
Club members are randomly placed on teams and their points are individually recorded. The first game is followed by a sumptuous turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Then, on a full belly, all curlers are once again randomly put on teams for their second game where their individual scores are combined with their scores from the earlier game to determine the All-Star Curling contenders.
The top contenders in Draw 2 were lead John McDonald, second Tammy Harrison, vice Larry Hope, and skip Dale Heiydt (pictured above).
The top contenders in Draw 1 were vices Ron Kreutzer and Brad Cook who were tied for top vice in their draw, skip George Shapcott, second Lynn Thompson and lead Teresa Verkley.
