At the council meeting Monday, Huntsville Mayor Nancy Alcock addressed the pushback council has received from members of the community regarding a municipal survey seeking input about keeping the ice at the Don Lough arena all year.
Alcock said what she’s learned from the experience is “I need to be clearer when I give direction and when we propose motions or when we review motions that we understand we’re on the same page, as it were. So that’s my learning from that,” she said.
“I want to reiterate that this was never intended as council charging forward with a proposed service level change. It was simply trying to engage the community and on that note, we have in fact extended the survey period and that was based on a request from one particular user group,” said Alcock.
The survey has been extended from May 1 to May 31, 2023 at 4:30 pm. Paper copies of the survey are also available at the customer service desk at the Canada Summit Centre.
The link to the survey states that Information will be gathered and staff will provide the details in a report to the July General Committee meeting.

If the towns registration site for the survey was functional it would be very helpful.
