if i may correct PM’s was a very nice restaurant, it’s major issue was lack of parking I have a little insight as my wife & I were very close to purchasing it. to clarify the Caesar bar was down the hill from PM’s two different spots

Was that building a former rooming house? Or the bookstore?

This brings back memories. Thank you.

To whomever wrote this article, this restaurant was open from 1985 till late 1989. It employed many locals for that time! It was popular and busy . The owners decided to close and sell the building back to the Anglican Church and build a cottage in Dorset. You’re asking the wrong people, “ if they remember it”! If you’d like more details, by all means, reach out instead of making it sound like P.M’s was open for a very short period of time!!!

This one really hit home for me. I’m the daughter of the owners of P.M.’s Restaurant, and seeing this photo brought back so many great memories.

My siblings and I grew up around that place, it was a big part of our lives. During my teenage years, I spent a lot of time there washing dishes and bussing tables. My sister was a waitress, and my brothers worked in the kitchen, we truly were a family run business. We met so many wonderful people along the way.

My parents poured their hearts into it and worked incredibly hard to make it a spot people would enjoy and remember.

My mom has since passed, but every time I drive by, I can still picture her there. It’s a special feeling seeing it remembered like this.

    Thank you for sharing. ❤️

PM’s was a great restaurant, started up and run by Peter (Banjo) Voll and Marianne McLaughlin. Marianne
was a bundle of energy with 6 adventurous kids, including 2 sets of twins. She had worked at Deerhurst before opening the restaurant and brought 2 good chefs with her. It was definitely one of the foremost fine dining restaurants in Huntsville at the time.

You can like or hate the Commerce Park development but at least there is still a sort of “archway” entry to Huntsville. Not in the original place but roads and traffic have changed over the years and we still have this somewhat unique feature, which is kind of nice. The center street road, is gradually becoming nicer with a central boulevard of trees. Once they get bigger this could become a really nice stretch of road.

Now if they could just do something about the stretch from the Hwy. 60, Musk. 3 intersection near the hospital to about Muskoka Auto Parts, like widen it and re-arrange the stop lights so they make sense and maybe fill in the potholes… well then it would be really good!
