YWCA to hold second Ladies Golf Tournament this September

Grab your clubs and get ready for YWCA Muskoka’s Swing for Your Sisters Ladies Charity Golf Tournament. Registration is now open at ywcamuskoka.com for the event on Monday, September 21, at North Granite Ridge Golf Club in Port Sydney.

According to Golf Canada, women currently make up approximately 25-28 per cent of on-course golfers in Canada, yet it’s a great way to exercise, socialize and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.

The YWCA is inviting women of all ages to join this uplifting day. Players can register as a team of four, as a twosome, or as an individual. The cost is $180 per player, with dinner, golf cart and green fees included. Shotgun start is 1:00pm. Best ball.  All skill levels welcome!

Swing for your Sisters will help raise funds for YWCA programs and outreach services for local women. YWCA’s first Swing for your Sisters drew 55 golfers and raised $27,000. Participants enjoyed the beautiful course, the dinner, and a silent auction highlighting local businesses.

The community charity raises close to $1 million to serve 1500 people with a wide range of programs each year and operates without long-term core funding. Proceeds from this year’s event will support women across Muskoka, particularly those who are rebuilding their lives after leaving intimate partner violence.

“The golf tournament is a wonderful opportunity to expand our reach across the region and even beyond, and meet new people who believe in the work we do for girls and women around gender-based violence prevention,” said Laura Sundy, Director of Community Engagement at YWCA Muskoka and Chair of Swing for Your Sisters.

If your business is interested in being a sponsor at the event or donating a silent auction item please contact Laura at [email protected] or call 705-645-9827.
