YWCA offers workshop about using AI

From YWCA Muskoka

On Saturday, April 5, YWCA Muskoka is bringing leading Canadian AI tech expert, Avery Swartz, to Muskoka for a workshop on understanding AI for local business owners, professionals, entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations.

“Avery’s approach is down to earth, fun and makes tech accessible to all. The workshop is for anyone feeling curious or cautious about adopting AI into their work,” said Stacey Schat, Director of Women’s Programs at YWCA Muskoka. “ We’ll spend the afternoon looking at generative AI, like ChatGPT, and explore how to use these tools to get more done in a way that is thoughtful, ethical and safe.”

Avery Swartz is a leading voice in AI adoption, tech education and skills development for entrepreneurs; she has spent over a decade equipping business owners, non-profits, and professionals with the tools they need to integrate technology into their work.

Participants will learn:

● How to enhance business operations using AI technologies;

● Tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and other AI applications and how they can help simplify operations, reduce costs, and boost competitiveness;

● Navigating bias, privacy, and copyright concerns while developing strategies to leverage AI for improved efficiency and productivity;

● Guidance on developing an AI Use Policy that aligns with your organization’s values.

The workshop will be held at The Muskoka Lumber Auditorium in Bracebridge from 1pm to 4pm. The cost is pay what you can, on a sliding scale from $20-$60 per person, and subsidies are available through YWCA Muskoka. Tickets must be purchased in advance of the workshop here
