YWCA Muskoka’s first Ladies Charity Golf Tournament takes place on September 10

From YWCA Muskoka

Registration opens Tuesday, July 8th for YWCA Muskoka’s first Ladies Charity Golf Tournament. The organization is hoping to see 125 golfers at the tournament on Wednesday, September 10th at North Granite Ridge Golf Club in Port Sydney. Called Swing for Your Sisters, proceeds from the sporting event will go to support YWCA Muskoka’s community programs and outreach services for women throughout the region this fall and into the coming year.

“Bringing women together for a day of golfing, games, dinner, and a silent auction, is a great way to raise friends and funds for what the YWCA does,” says Executive Director, Hannah Lin. “I’m not a regular golfer but it’s great to get outside on the green, have fun, and it is best ball so that works for all players at all levels.”

YWCA Muskoka delivers over 16 programs to girls, boys, women, and community members living on low income through the region. The organization operates without ongoing core government funding and raises close to $1M every year through fundraising events, donations and project grants.

Players can register as a foursome or as individuals for $225 each  online at http://www.ywcamuskoka.com/golf . Sponsors and silent auction donors are welcome and encouraged to reach out to Hannah or the team at the YWCA to find out how to get involved.

YWCA Muskoka champions positive change for girls, women and gender-diverse people through education, leadership and advocacy. As a local charitable organization, YWCA Muskoka focusses on 4 priorities: preventing gender-based violence; cultivating economic resilience; promoting mental health and wellbeing; and building community relationships. YWCA Muskoka envisions a world in which girls, women and gender-diverse people thrive in a safe and equitable society.
