Wayback Wednesday, sponsored by Jamie Lockwood, broker/owner of Sutton Group Muskoka Realty, with family roots of more than 100 years in Huntsville and Almaguin

This photo of Tjeerd and Atie Wouda was taken on November 1, 1981.

The Wouda’s took over Windmill Bakery from the original owner, Ton Struyk, who founded the bakery in 1976.
Today, Dan and Grace Willows offer European-inspired breads and pastries, traditional Dutch specialties, freshly baked loaves from stone-milled flour, savory items like meat pies and sausage rolls, as well as seasonal and community-focused offerings.
Over time, the business has grown beyond just a traditional bakery. It now operates as a bakery and bistro, offering not only baked goods but also breakfast and lunch items, in-house breads, and gluten-free options. The bakery will soon be celebrating 50 years in the community of Huntsville.
