Mayor’s Art Contest

Vote for your favourite in the Mayor’s Art Contest

Sixty-two local elementary students have submitted their best artwork for the third annual Mayor’s Art Contest. Mayor Scott Aitchison has picked his favourite, as has the contest curator. Now it’s your turn.

Head up to the third floor of Town Hall to view the submissions. Students were asked to create works within the themes of Canada 150th, Tom Thomson, the Group of Seven or Algonquin Park. The awarded entries will each receive a prize – $250 for the mayor’s choice, $75 for the curator’s choice and $25 for the people’s choice – and all three will be hung in the mayor’s office.

Voting is open until 4:30 p.m. on May 16, 2017. Awards will be presented by Mayor Aitchison at the May 23 council meeting.
