Upcoming paint night will support Huntsville Hospital Foundation

On November 7, Aimée Bulloch will be hosting a paint night workshop in support of the Huntsville Hospital Foundation.

The foundation is currently fundraising to buy a new birthing bed, which costs more than over $80,000, and they have almost reached their target.

“I have a personal connection to the maternity ward at Huntsville Hospital,” said Bulloch. “I had a difficult birth with our first born and the staff were amazing through that troublesome situation. This is definitely a cause close to my heart.”

Tickets for the event, which will be held at Boston Pizza at 7 p.m., are $60—$10 covers the cost of supplies and the other $50 will go directly to the birthing bed fund.

This event is part of a larger fundraising group that includes a matchmakers group. Therefore, all donated money will be matched by the matchmakers and then the total will be donated to the hospital’s birthing bed fund.

Bulloch’s personal goal for the event is to raise $2,000 towards the birthing bed and she is confident it will be met.

“People fought so hard to keep our hospital so now it’s up to us to step up and fundraise as a community to make it even better,” said Bulloch.

Bulloch is an Ontario-certified art teacher with a degree in art and has taught many workshops including A Glass With Class.

The painting event will lead participants through creation of a pastel winter scene and is open to everyone of all ages from beginner to experts. Instruction includes a step-by-step demonstration as well as hands-on assistance. Bulloch is currently looking for art students to volunteer to give tips and assistance with painting throughout the night.

Bulloch also has help from HHF staff Trish Kruusmagi, who is helping with advertising for the event, and executive director Katherine Craine.

Boston Pizza, which is hosting the event, will also be donating 10 per cent of food sales throughout dinner on November 7 to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation.
