The Township of Lake of Bays has released a draft report on how to move forward with the Roads License Agreement (RLA) program (pdf).
The report will be presented and discussed at its January 14, 2025 meeting, which includes the following recommendations:
- Removal of Roads, Streets and Lanes on Plans of Subdivision.
- Terms of the agreement be rewritten to address new access only during construction and remove the requirement for renewal and annual fees.
- Terms of the agreement be rewritten to remove the requirement for previously existing roads/driveways to enter into an Agreement.
- Rewrite the agreement to be succinct and concise, reduce the length and use language that is easy to understand.
- That the Road Purchasing policy be reviewed and updated based on the amendments to the Road License Agreement Program.
As outlined in the Township’s December 20, 2024 update, the January 14, 2025 Council meeting will focus on presenting and discussing the report, which will remain open for public review and comment until the February 11, 2025 meeting.
The municipality is encouraging the public to attend the meeting and view the presentation before submitting written comments or delegation requests for future meetings.
