As per the Municipal Act, the municipal treasurer is required to report annually on the remuneration and expenditures paid out to each member of council as well as board and committee members for the previous year.
The information is required to be released by March 31 each year; however, according to Julia McKenzie, Director of Financial Services/Treasurer, the report was delayed due to the cyber attack that impacted the Town of Huntsville.
Her report notes that both the remuneration and expenses paid out by the municipality came in just under the budgeted amount set in 2023.
