Town of Huntsville offers fun-filled March break

Pity those who are leaving town for March Break (March 13-17), because there is so much happening in and around Huntsville. Here’s a list of camps and activities being offered by the Town. Huntsville Public Library

Tons of activities for all ages. Green screen and button-making, Lego, Minecraft, Gadgets & Robotics, and of course, reading and storytime. Some courses are free. Registration opens March 6. Some highlights of the week include:

Speaking of Wildlife – Join the Friends of the Library to see real, live, unique animals! Speaking of Wildlife’s interactive 1-hour presentation features 5-6 wildlife ambassadors. Yes, you get to see some animals. Wednesday, March 15th at 11 AM ($3 per person) at the Huntsville Legion.

STEM Programs – A variety of maker programs including Make It Glow & Try Out Circuit Scribe, Make It Fly & Make It Throw as well as Make It Magnets. More STEM programs include Tech Gadgets & Robotics, Minecraft, Try Out Scratch, Filmmaking with the Green Screen and March Break Lego Builders. Registration opens Monday, March 6.

Drum Circle at the Active Living Centre

Grab the kids and come drum with Barry “Bazza” Hayward. No experience necessary. Kids are free but this is a together activity – no drop and run. Thurs. March 16 from 2:30 – 4:00 pm or 6:30 – 8:00 pm. $10/session. Register in advance (Code 16801) or drop in.

Day Camp at the Active Living Centre

Your kids will have a ball – with a week of games, dress-up days, swimming, skating, baking, crafts and outdoor fun. For ages 5 – 12. This camp is full.

Theatre Camp at the Algonquin Theatre

Give those with a dramatic flair their chance to let loose in the spotlight. Puppet-making and mask-making, scriptwriting and of course, plenty of performance and physical expression. For ages 8 – 12. March 13 – 17. Sponsored by Rosseau Lake College. This camp is full.
