Fire danger rating – extreme

Total fire ban issued for Muskoka

 

The MUSKOKA FIRE CHIEFS have now set the Fire Danger rating at EXTREME.

There is a TOTAL BAN on all fires in the District of Muskoka until further notice.

NO fires of any type are permitted. NO fires are permitted for cooking or warmth and NO fireworks are allowed.

    Today is July 30th and it has now rained twice (once for 3+ hours) since this fire ban was issued. How long until it is lowered? It seems they are very fast to issue the fire ban but slow to remove it. I understand why it was issued but how about removing it now that we have had significant rain?

    Congratulations to the person/ group who posted NO FIRES. along Hwy 11 south of Gravenhurst. Should see more of these on 11 north of Gravenhurst. And along Hwy 60
