From the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department
Due to the quickly accelerating dry conditions, as of August 7, 2025, the Muskoka Fire Chiefs have issued a total fire ban. The fire danger rating is now set to extreme for Huntsville and Lake of Bays. Under a total fire ban, all outdoor burning is prohibited, including charcoal barbeques and fireworks.
All fire danger rating signage in the community has been updated to reflect the fire ban. In addition, we ask for Short Term Rental Accommodation owners to please advise your guests of the fire ban to help increase awareness.
