Three motorists charged with impaired driving in Huntsville

The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three impaired drivers in the Town of Huntsville.

On August 20, 2025, at 7:40 p.m., Huntsville OPP officers responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Etwell Road in Huntsville. Officers arrested and charged 35-year-old Paul MCDONALD, of Huntsville, ON, with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 16, 2025.

On August 27, 2025, at 12:26 a.m. Huntsville OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint regarding a vehicle on Highway 11 Southbound in Huntsville, ON. Police located the motor vehicle and the 35-year-old driver, Dylan WRIGHT, of Huntsville, ON, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on October 7, 2025.

On August 29, 2025, at 7:40 p.m., Huntsville OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint regarding an impaired driver. Police located the motor vehicle at a business on Howland Drive in Huntsville. The driver, 55-year-old Alain MARION of Niagara Falls, ON, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on October 7, 2025.

There is no excuse for impaired driving. These events could have easily been avoided had the drivers planned ahead before consuming alcohol or drugs. Don’t include alcohol or drugs in any plans to drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another option that does not include driving.  If you suspect impaired driving, please call 911.
