The Township of Lake of Bays’ OP available for review and comment

The Township of Lake of Bays is continuing its review and update of its Official Plan, and staff is seeking community input.

An Official Plan contains the Township’s policies on land use and development, ensuring it reflects the community’s specific needs and aligns with current provincial policies. Staff is seeking input from residents and stakeholders as the project reaches its final stage.

Revised New Official Plan for Public Review
The project is now in Phase 5, and the revised new Official Plan is available for public review and comment. This version has considered public comments received so far and incorporated direction from council, Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders.

The revised document is available on the Township’s website and includes updated District and Provincial policy, background information, and recommendations from the Discussion Papers and Policy Directions Report completed earlier in the project. Public and stakeholder comments have and will continue to shape the future of Lake of Bays. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to review the revised Official Plan and the Top Five Things You Should Know overview at lakeofbays.on.ca/OfficialPlan.

Statutory Public Meeting
A statutory public meeting will take place during a Council (Planning Matters) meeting to provide an opportunity for public comment.
