Support available for families or individuals experiencing a pregnancy or infant loss

Community members experiencing pregnancy or infant loss are encouraged to reach out to the PAIL Network for support.

The Network meets on the third Wednesday of each month in Huntsville from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and offers peer support for all types of pregnancy and infant losses in a confidential environment, facilitated in person by trained peer support volunteers with a shared lived experience of loss. Families may also choose to attend loss-specific online groups.

“PAIL Network is a provincial program that connects families across Ontario who have experienced a pregnancy or infant loss. What makes us unique is the extent of our network and the variety of supports we offer. We have multiple support groups and volunteers with diverse lived experiences, allowing families to connect in meaningful ways with others who truly understand their loss. This range of experiences and programs helps ensure that every family can find the type of support that feels right for them,” explained Loralee McInroy, Family Support Coordinator with PAIL Network.

McInroy began by volunteering for the organization after having to navigate her own painful loss when, in 2014, she and her husband experienced the loss of their second child, Angel.

The Network created an in-person Circle of Support in Huntsville this year. An event for bereaved families will also be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025. “This event is open to the whole family. We will start by sharing a meal and then families will create several commemorative pieces, explained McInroy.

“Our support groups are designed to be as inclusive and welcoming as possible. We strive to create a safe space where everyone feels supported and respected, no matter their experience or where they are in their grief. Our dedicated volunteers and staff work hard to ensure each participant feels comfortable and cared for. If anyone has questions or would like to know what to expect before attending, I’m always happy to connect and talk through the details in advance. Many families find it very meaningful to share space with someone who has experienced a similar type of loss,” noted McInroy.

PAIL Network also offers support for pregnancy after loss, living with your grief, parenting after loss, and grief after abortion, as well as special events throughout the year.
