Suni has made his way home but misses Huntsville

By Shgual Rof Tsuj

The other day I realized that I had not seen or heard from Len Ross or Suni. So, I reached out to Len to find out what was happening. Len told me that he had taken Suni home to Barbados. I asked if it was possible to speak with him. If the readers remember, Suni is a stuffed animal, but he has the capability of speaking directly to a very few selected individuals. Not to brag, I am one of those individuals.

Len set up an internet phone call and together we reached out and found Suni at the University of the West Indies in Bridgetown, Barbados. Suni told me that he had enjoyed his travels, especially Huntsville and all the people that he had encountered here. He also enjoyed the other adventures that took him throughout this area as well as many other places in Ontario and Quebec and a quick visit to the USA. During our conversation, he said he now felt that he was truly a traveller, but a traveller who eventually became just a little homesick. He went on to say that he missed his guardian, Gregory Hazzard.

During our conversation, Suni said that Barbados and Muskoka are very similar because both rely on tourism. People come from all over the world to see the beauty of both, but in Barbados, you won’t find maple trees, lots of lakes, loons, robins, Tim Horton’s, or snow. Suni repeated that the welcome he received everywhere was very special. He also said that he hopes to return to Huntsville soon because feels that Huntsville will always be his second home.

Before we ended our telephone call Suni told me he would keep in touch with Len and myself. He said the next time we spoke he would tell me and our readers about his home in Barbados. For those who want to know just a little about Suni’s home, go to www.visitbarbados.org.
