Stars head to Bracebridge for Hockey Night in Muskoka

From United Way Simcoe Muskoka

On Aug 14, 2025, Hockey Night in Muskoka will be kicking off the first annual celebrity hockey game and youth ball hockey experience to raise money for United Way of Simcoe Muskoka programs in Muskoka, focusing on youth mental health and lifting people out of poverty, and for the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation.

The day will kick off with The Youth Ball Hockey Experience starting at 3:00 pm that will  include ball hockey games, fun, interactive experiences, vendors, skill development, food  and more. There will be fun for all ages! To participate in the event, youth will fundraise $200  to go to our charities of choice. The top 10 youth fundraisers will get an experience of a  lifetime by participating in an element of the Charity Hockey Game. This experience is open  for all genders, ages U18 and under and all abilities.

At 7 pm, the puck will drop on the celebrity hockey game that will highlight current and alumni NHL players. Community members who raise or donate $10,000 will have the chance to lace up with the NHLers for an experience of a lifetime. This entertainment game will be filled with laughter and fun for the whole family.

General admission tickets are $25 each and VIP tickets are $200. VIP includes reserved  seating in the VIP section, admission to the pre and post game reception where you can rub  shoulders with current and alumni NHL players and enjoy food and drink. Tickets can be  purchased on Hockey Night in Muskoka’s website here: Hockey Night in Muskoka 2025.

Trying to bring home a win is Wendel Clark and Kris King will go head-to-head as coaches.  Players Evan Bouchard, Ryan McLeod and Dylan Cozens will join the teams and others will  be announced in the coming weeks so keep an eye on our social media page and the  celebrity page on our website for player announcements.

“We have wanted to bring a game like this to Muskoka for some time. I and all past and current NHL players know the importance of giving back to our communities. We know the power of hockey and how it can bring people together. By combining the two, we know we can make a power difference in the lives of so many people through our charities of choice.  That is why we are encouraging youth and our adult players to help us fundraise to help foster a community that cares for each other,” said Kris King, Executive Vice President,  Hockey Operations for the National Hockey League.

“I know many people are struggling in our community and I want to do what I can to help.  We need to make sure everyone in our community can be strong and thrive. I have seen events like this raise a tremendous amount of money in other communities, and I am thrilled to be working with a strong board to make this happen here in Muskoka, said Brenda  Rhodes, Deputy Mayor & District Councillor.
