The Huntsville Hoyas junior and senior soccer teams are advancing to the GBSSA championships. The Junior team will play Holy Trinity in Bradford on Thursday, while the Seniors are waiting to find out who they play against from Simcoe County. The game will be hosted by either Simcoe County or Simcoe Catholic school, also this Thursday.
In play for the seniors, Huntsville defeated Parry Sound 7-1 last Thursday to advance to the GBSSA game. Tom Giblin, Aaron Sutherland and Kodai Araki had two goals and Nick Lavigne got the other.
The Senior Hoyas also defeated BMLSS in the semi final game 4-0. Will Neudorf, Aaron Sutherland, Nick Lavigne and Dylan Welsh each scored goals.
The Junior Hoyas kept their undefeated record for the year intact when they beat Almaguin 4-2, securing the Muskoka Parry Sound title. The goal scorers were Jack Lockwook and Kyler Campbell, each with two.

The Senior Hoyas finished third in the OFSAA championships last year. It was only the second time a Huntsville High School Soccer team had reached the provincial finals. They are hoping to not only gain a berth in that tournament again this year but to do even better.
Sixteen players on this year’s team competed at OFSAA. After the tournament the team stayed together playing in the Huntsville Soccer Club and won the U-18 District Championship.
I am hoping the cohesion of the players’ efforts throughout the summer will enable Huntsville High School’s team to have success throughout the school year.Coach John Cowan
The Junior Hoyas are hoping it will be two Huntsville teams at OFSAA this year.
