Snowmobile stolen from local resort: do you have any information?

At approximately 3:57 pm on Monday, February 15, 2016, members of the Huntsville OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) attended a local resort to investigate the theft of a snowmobile. Sometime between 8:00 pm on Sunday, February 14, 2016 and 2:00 pm on Monday, February 15, 2016 unknown persons stole a snowmobile from the parking lot of the resort. The snowmobile is described as a 2009 Skidoo MXZ black in colour with registration number ZAD278.

SkidooIn a separate incident, at approximately 3:40am on Tuesday February 16, 2016 members of the Huntsville (OPP) Ontario Provincial Police were conducting patrols in the area of Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville. Upon entering the parking lot they noticed the ramp of an enclosed snowmobile trailer open. Further investigation revealed unknown persons had broken the locks off of the rear door and removed one of three snowmobiles that were in the trailer. Stolen was a 2003 Ski Doo MXZX 800 cc Blair Morgan Edition yellow and black in colour with registration number 941434.

 

Police are asking anyone with information regarding these thefts to contact the Huntsville OPP at 705-789-5551 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Huntsville OPP are also asking snowmobile owners to take extra precautions when parking their snowmobiles and leaving them unattended. Park them in a secure compound if available or secure them on the snowmobile trailer.
