Scotiabank book sale to benefit local Rotary initiatives

Scotiabank in Huntsville has generously offered an opportunity to the Rotary Club of Huntsville-Lake of Bays to partner with it for its in-branch book sale for November and December.

The branch, located in the Huntsville Place Mall, and the Rotary Club will stock the book sale self with gently-used adult reading level fiction and non-fiction books. Branch visitors can drop by the bank to browse and purchase the books.

Proceeds from the sale – which will be kindly matched by Scotiabank – will support youth development and leadership initiatives, such as the Huntsville High School breakfast program and Students for Success lunches, Ontario Early Years nutrition program, orthodontics services for children from low-income families, summer camp adventures for at-risk youth, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and more.

Rotarian Cara Schiedel encouraged everyone to read for Rotary.

“Come check out our amazing selection of books and pick one up for a donation, or drop off your own books for donation at Scotiabank in Huntsville,” said Schiedel. “Proceeds go to the Rotary Club of Huntsville-Lake of Bays, which runs many community projects, including Helping Hungry Students at Huntsville High School and the Santa Claus Parade. Pick up your ‘read’ for Rotary today.”

Those interested in donating or purchasing books for the months of November and December are encouraged to stop by the branch at 70 King Williams St., Huntsville.

The Rotary Club of Huntsville-Lake of Bays is a service club of men and women who meet weekly over breakfast for fellowship, while participating in local and international services projects.
