Roger Fisher

With family by his side on the 19th day of December 2023, Huntsville lost one of its finest. Predeceased by his parents Ross and Marie. Roger leaves behind his loving wife Pat, his son, Jason (Catherine) brothers, Larry (Elaine )Allen (Gail), Joe (Brenda) and Rossy ( Denise) sisters Darlene (John) and Rosie as well as his absolute pride and joy his grandson’s Tyson and Nathan.

Roger was born and raised in Huntsville and over the years has touched so many lives with his endless kindness, happiness, no-problem attitude and huge laugh. Roger’s friends never seemed to end and he was always finding time to help anyone who needed it from his best baseball buddies in the world to all his weekly (just can’t miss) card groups. His smile and laughter brought joy to everyone he met.

He immensely enjoyed fishing on Sand Lake and his time with all his friends at Sandhurst. Roger worked for his father in his early years and later for the Town of Huntsville where he was always happy to contribute to the community. To honour Roger’s wishes, there will not be a funeral or celebration of life ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Huntsville.

Saddened to hear about the Passing of Roger. He was a great friend of my brother in his later years. Roger was always there, dropping in for a visit, playing cards, taking him to
    Doctors appointments.
Roger was so upbeat and happy even though he had his own serious health issues.

I have known Roger for many years and he never failed to make everyone around him smile and always had a story to tell. He took great pride in his two grandsons and his son and spent time with them whenever he could. He loved his family and generally loved people and would help anyone in need. Most of all he loved to make people laugh. We are all better off having known him and he will be sincerely missed.

  17. Bill Spring says:

I knew Roger on almost a daily basis in the late 80’s and 90’s while spending a large amount of time at the Huntsville arena.
One year, we worked together running a house league minor hockey team.
He was one of the most positive and friendly people I have ever met and I was privileged to know him.
