Road reconstruction work planned for Cora and Minerva streets

From the Town of Huntsville

As outlined in the Town of Huntsville’s 2024 Capital Construction Program announcement, road reconstruction projects on Cora St. and Minerva St. are scheduled for this summer. Cora St. Road Reconstruction work is scheduled to start May 27, 2024. Minerva St. Road Reconstruction work is scheduled to start in June, with exact date to be announced.

Cora St. Road Reconstruction work, starting May 27 and anticipated to end August 31, will take place between West. St. and Brunel Rd. Works include storm sewers, water, sewer, road resurfacing and new sidewalk. There will be traffic impacts; the road will be open to local traffic only. The public is requested to avoid the area, if possible, during construction.

The public tender for the Minerva St. Road reconstruction project has closed and is in the evaluation stage. The exact project start date will be announced after the project is awarded, but construction is currently scheduled to start in June and end by September 30. Work will take place between Centre St. and West St and will include storm sewers, sidewalks, and road resurfacing. All businesses and private parking lots will have pedestrian and vehicular traffic access. All street parking will be prohibited until the project is complete. The public will need to use side streets for parking.
