Road rage involving disabled transport truck leads to assault charges

From the Huntsville OPP

On December 18, 2025, at 5:28 p.m., the Huntsville OPP responded to a disturbance on King William Street.

Officers attended the location and, through investigation, determined that a male driver had approached the driver of a disabled transport truck and proceeded to have a physical altercation, striking the victim several times. The victim did not require medical assistance because of the assault.

Victor BETTS, 74 years old, of Emsdale, Ontario is charged with:

  • Assault
  • Utter Threat – to cause Death or Bodily Harm

The accused is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on February 13, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, Ontario.
