Riverside SK students held a pawsitively successful fundraiser for OSPCA

When you’re in senior kindergarten, $500 is a whole lot of money. So it was with abundant pride and excitement that the Senior Kindergarten French Immersion class at Riverside Public School presented a cheque in that amount to the OSPCA today (March 9).

During the presentation, student Wyatt Worne got straight to the point and said, “Thank you for coming. We have money. Five hundred dollars.” Fellow student Claudia Kruger handed over the cheque to Kristy Kirk and Jenna Blackall of the OSPCA who said the funds would go back to the shelter to help with spays and neuters and other needs. They brought along Kingsley, one of the dogs from the Muskoka Animal Centre, to meet the students.

The class raised the funds during a National Cupcake Day fundraiser (read about their efforts on Doppler here), selling cupcakes they made themselves to students, staff, and visitors to the school.
