If you are a musical-theatre lover you shouldn’t miss this chance to take in the musical stage show, REEL Music, this weekend at the Huntsville Studio Theatre.
REEL Music is a collection of musical performances from movies of yesterday and today, including numbers from Mary Poppins, Grease and 007.
The Studio Theatre at Chaffey Hall will take you back to the days when you took your martinis shaken not stirred, when you took a spoon full of sugar and when being part of the T-Birds or Pink Ladies was part of your high school identity.
The show is directed and produced by Huntsville High School student Hailey Scott with the support of The Huntsville Theatre Company. REEL Music is part of Scott’s co-op education in theatre at Huntsville High School.
Scott is also using this opportunity to raise funds. Proceeds from the show will go towards The Theatre is My Passion program, a FREE program for youth with the Huntsville Theatre Company. “Proceeds will also go towards establishing a new scholarship program in conjunction with Huntsville High School,” said Scott. “This scholarship will be for students who have demonstrated a passion for community theatre both in front and behind the curtain.”
REEL Music runs on Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20 at 7:30pm. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $25
and can be purchased at Treasures and Trophies or by emailing Scott at [email protected].
