ProActive Rehab staff take chilly plunge in support of Hospice Huntsville

Staff at ProActive Rehab took their second annual Hike for Hospice Challenge to a new level this year. They’ve been collecting donations from clients for a few weeks and to encourage donors the two highest fundraisers agreed to take a dunk in the Muskoka River.

To cheers from shore, Leslie Tempest and Stella Barnett kept their end of the deal on May 3. The water was a cool 7.8°C, although they didn’t know that going in. They just knew it would be cold. “Anything for Hospice,” said Tempest when she emerged from the water.

They’ve raised about $700 so far, with donations still being accepted until Friday, May 5. The ProActive Rehab team will be taking part in Hike for Hospice on Sunday, May 7. The event begins at noon at River Mill Park.

Last year, the ProActive Rehab challenge saw the highest fundraisers take a pie in the face from their largest donors.
