Port Cunnington Lodge is the oldest continuously operating resort on Lake of Bays. In Post Cards from Lake of Bays by Bruce MacLellan, a note reads: “On this card mailed in 1935, the sender marked her room with an ‘x’.” The two-storey boathouse had guest rooms above. You can see the lodge on the right in the back.
Port Cunnington Lodge was established in 1890 by Boyce Cunnington, who purchased the property from Mr. Parkin. The lodge remained in the family until 1989 when it was sold to Paul and Ann Stafford. You can find more photos and history on the Lodge’s website HERE.
