A look ahead from the reading chair.
November is now behind us, and December brings a ‘flurry’ (snow pun intended) to our community, and the HPL team and staff would like to highlight a few picks from our growing collection as we get ready to ‘plow’ into the winter season (2nd winter pun).
Interested in curling up with a good movie? The F1 movie is now out and available to check out. This is a great opportunity if you are a fan of motor racing, a fan of the Netflix series, or a fan of Brad Pitt. This movie provides a point of view that allows you to get up close and personal with the fast-paced, heart-thumping sport that is modern car racing today.
Looking at staff picks for something to read?
‘At a Loss for Words: Conversation in an Age of Rage’. What better way to equip yourself for spicy holiday dinner conversations? Six riveting chapters cover the English language around freedom, democracy, truth,
woke, choice, and taxes. Regardless of your political stripes, this is a book that will light up a conversation.
Don’t forget, in December, we have several programs, including our ongoing Friends of the Huntsville Library book sale. Pay what you wish. What a great way to shop for the holidays. Along with our growing ‘library of things’ offerings…including Nintendo Switch games, sewing machines, and Thermal Imaging Cameras, there is something for everyone at HPL.
