Paddling our waterways requires safety equipment, just like a vessel: Huntsville OPP

From the Huntsville OPP

The Huntsville OPP want to remind summer waterway enthusiasts that paddling our waterways requires safety equipment, just like a vessel.

The law requires anyone on a stand-up paddleboard (SUP), canoe, or kayak to carry safety equipment. This equipment includes buoyant rope, whistle, watertight flashlight, and a magnetic compass.

While these are the minimums, nothing prevents you from adding to your safety supplies. Don’t forget to let somebody know your plans (destination and time to return).
