Overnight fire in Huntsville’s Fabricare causes $250,000 in damage

No one was injured in an overnight fire in a Huntsville laundromat that has caused an estimated $250,000 in damages to that business.

The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department report that they responded to an alarm going off in a commercial office at 110 Main St. East in Huntsville shortly after 1 am Sunday morning.

Upon arrival crews encountered light smoke inside the commercial occupancy but found a working fire in the laundry facility located below. The residential occupants were evacuated and crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

Some other areas of the building suffered some smoke damage and the occupants in two residential units were not able to return. No injuries were reported and damage is estimated at $250,000 to the laundry facility.
The cause is still under investigation.
