Otters Claim Round 5 of Battle of Muskoka with 5–3 Win Over Bears

The Battle of Muskoka Round 5 took place over the weekend in Huntsville, as the Bears made the short jaunt to the Canada Summit Centre for a Friday night game.

After giving up an early goal, Tyson Jennings potted his 5th of the year, banging home a rebound to tie it up, only to see the Otters take the lead a minute later and hold a 2-1 advantage going into the 2nd period.

The second period was owned by the Bears as they got a tying goal from Sebastien McLeod, his 3rd of the year, from tyler Lasitz, and Sam Litt, then took the lead on a pretty goal from Jack Seney, his 4th, on a bar down top corner shot from a tough angle to give the Bears A 3-2 lead going into the 3rd period.

These Battle of Muskoka games are always hard hitting, tough, fast paced affairs, and the Otters came out flying in the 3rd, taking advantage of some penalty trouble by the Bears to tie the game early, and then take the lead 4- 3, on a goalmouth scramble, which is the Otters bread and butter with their work ethic around the net, on rebounds and loose pucks.

Otters salted the game away with an empty netter, for the win 5-3.

Rematch in the last Battle in Muskoka is on tap for Monday, Feb. 16th, Family Day, at 2 pm at Muskoka Lumber Community Centre.
