OPP seek public’s help to identify fraud suspect

 

The Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking assistance from the public to identify a suspect involved in a Fraud.

On March 26, 2019, a male suspect called the elderly victim and pretended to be an employee of a bank.

The suspect had the victim attend the bank and withdraw money from a bank before returning home with the money in hand. The suspect then attended the victim’s residence and took the money.

Police are reminding the public to be aware of phone and internet scams which continue to pose as a concern.

If you receive suspicious phone calls and or emails asking for your personal banking information and or requesting you to transfer money, contact your financial institution directly to validate the request before making any transactions.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can submit your information online at www.p3tips.com or if you have any information on this crime or any other crime.

    Will people never learn..This is in the news/ in newspapers/ on the tv/ on the radio almost every day…People are too trusting…start doubting yourselves and asking questions..This has to stop!!
