The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is reporting one new COVID-related death in Lake of Bays, a man 80-plus whose infection was community acquired. No further details are currently available.
The death occurred in a week that saw seven new COVID-19 cases in the Huntsville/Lake of Bays area since Nov. 1, five in Huntsville and two in Lake of Bays. Three of the cases were as a result of close contact with another case, one was community acquired, and three are currently under investigation.
The active cases in Muskoka are as follows:
- Huntsville: five active cases of 166 to date (159 resolved, two deceased)
- Lake of Bays: one active case of 39 to date (37 resolved, one deceased)
- Muskoka Lakes: none active of 130 cases to date (129 resolved, one deceased)
- Bracebridge: one active of 129 to date (127 resolved, one deceased)
- Gravenhurst: one active of 116 to date (114 resolved, one deceased)
- Georgian Bay: none active of 37 to date (37 resolved)
