Local quilters Mary Spring and Terri Howell are at it again. Thanks to a District of Muskoka Pay It Forward grant, the pair are hosting drop-in quilting sessions, this time with a twist. In the past, they hosted landscape quilting workshops for free to local students to share their love for the art. On March 28, they are inviting anyone with a love for Canada to drop in and make a square for a Canada 150 quilt. No sewing experience is required – they’ll help anyone learn how.
Several squares have already been made thanks to an earlier drop-in on March 28.
- Machines and fabric are provided – you just bring the creativity!
- The squares need to be cut to the correct size for piecing together
Once all of the squares are complete, they will be pieced together and quilted locally and then presented as a gift to the library.
